Wait for Full Screen Touch ID
One way for Apple to slim down or eliminate the notch is by adding an under-the-screen fingerprint sensor to the iPhone.
A research note from Barclays analyst Blaine Curtis states that Apple might employ a new version of Touch ID on upcoming iPhone flagships.
According to Curtis, the new iPhones might include acoustic fingerprint technology, something that could allow for full-screen Touch ID. This is not the first time we've heard this rumor.
If true, it could mean that upcoming iPhones feature a biometric setup like the Samsung Galaxy S series. Newer Galaxy models use a fingerprint reader that's under the display.
Ming-Chi Kuo, an extremely reliable source, believes Apple's 2021 iPhone models will come with Face ID and an on-display fingerprint sensor.
Economic Daily News claimed that Apple might install the technology on an iPhone in 2020 though it also said the release could be pushed back into 2021.
If full screen Touch ID is something you might be interested in, consider holding out for the iPhone 13.
